I just found out that it's not longer appropriate to put two spaces after a period. Apparently that died with the typewriter, but I can't kick the habit! Not only because it is ingrained in me to put two spaces, but because it makes papers longer, and because how else do you differentiate between a comma/semi colon, and a new sentence!? Anyone else struggling with this? Anyone else not know about this rule?

i remember reading that in a design book some years ago and thinking that it was about time someone else thought two spaces was needless. i have no problem with it at all.

You're still supposed to do it before and after work titles in a works cited page. But that's MLA. The same MLA that actually requires 5 spaces at the beginning of a paragraph instead of a tab. I just found that out. But maybe they've changed it again.

yeah, two spaces or die. It's an innate trait that I cannot rid myself of! Heaven help us!

I'd like to kick the two space habit and become a one spacer.

Do you know where I can get help?

i only used two spaces in the papers i wrote for my last semester of college because i was truly struggling with length. why do they ask for length and then get mad when your point is reached in half the space and the rest is filler-crap?! single space makes a steady pace!
